  • How long do I need to hold Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) before applying for British Naturalisation?
    You will need to hold ILR for a minimum of 12 months before you can apply for British Citizenship
  • How long do I have to be on a Spousal Visa before I can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain?
    You will need to complete 60 months on your Spouse visa before you can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain. You are allowed to include time spent out of the UK (holidays etc) into the 60 months as long as you did not arrive into the UK more than 180 days after the start date of your visa (at the beginning of the 60 months)
  • Do I need to give up my South African passport if I apply for British Citizenship?
    No. As long as you apply for your Retention of SA Citizenship from the SA High Commission BEFORE you apply for British Citizenship, you are permitted to hold Dual Nationality, South African/British You will need to apply for a new Retention letter for every new Citizenship you take up voluntarily (not if obtained through one of your parents)
  • How can I trust that Nexus will do everything correctly?
    We are regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC), which is the government regulated body and it is a criminal offence if someone is providing Immigration advice without this regulation. Our Advisors are very well trained in the rules and regulations of the UK Immigration system and will give you the best possible advice on your current situation.
  • Can I apply for British Citizenship/Naturalisation as a same day appointment with the UKVI (formally the UKBA)?
    No. British Naturalisation is only available as an online application and as considerable verification checks need to be completed, the processing time can take up to 6 months once submitted with the UKVI.
  • Do Nexus offer a ‘No Visa No Fee’?
    As a registered Immigration Advisory, we ensure that we provide the full service that is necessary to get the best result from your application. Our fee’s are very competitive which is why we do not offer a No Visa No Fee service.
  • Can Nexus guarantee an application?
    The decision on an application lies with the UKVI (Home Office), therefore we cannot guarantee the successful outcome of your application, but we have a highly skilled team of advisors who will make every effort to ensure that your application has the highest likelihood of success.
  • Do you offer a Same Day Service?
    The UKVI/Home Ofiice no longer offer same day appointments. They offer a super priority service, which is a fast track service. They aim to make a decision by the end of the next working day once biometrics have been enrolled.
  • What information will be disclosed at my consultation and will it remain confidential?
    We keep all information relating to clients confidential and will only disclose information by reason of a legal or regulatory obligation. We will request that you are honest with us about your personal information and do not withhold any information that could be pertinent to your case.
  • What is your Confirmation of Instructions (COI)?
    Our Confirmation of Instructions (or Client Care Letter) outlines our Terms & Conditions. It also outlines your case and the service we offer for your specific application, as well as giving a breakdown of the costs associated with your application, so you can be assured of no other hidden costs (however, if the UKVI increased their fee before your application is submitted, the new fee will have to be paid at the time of submission to the UKVI/Home Office. The Agreement outlines your immigration journey and current situation as well as the terms that both the client and Nexus agree to work towards during the course of your Immigration journey
